from brassy to classy: color therapy for brighter days

Sometimes all you need is a little color therapy, especially when fall and winter skies leave many days gray and overcast. But fear not—Aviary stylist Jenni Snyder Renshaw is a pro at brightening things up. Recently, Shannon came to us with brassy ends and wanted a color correction to achieve the more blended brighter and lighter tones she desired. Jenni used Minu shampoo and conditioner plus Minu Mask to repair ends and blew out/styled her hair with Melu Heat protector and finished using Oi Oil on the ends. Check out the change in the photo below, and here's to brighter (not brassy) days. get this summer's beach waves with these davines styling tips

Summer hair begs for easy mornings and natural locks. So, to make your daily hair routine that much easier, we turned to Aviary's newest stylist, Jenni Synder Renshaw, and asked how to get this summer's beachy wave. Look below for hair tips and inspiration photos from Jenni, and prepare to stock your beauty bag with Davines.

Hot for summer 2015 is the beachy wave. If you already have natural waves, you can enhance the texture with Davines' Sea Salt Spray. Just scrunch and go, and it will give your waves that tousled piecey look. Straight hair can be styled by blow drying with Sea Salt Spray or Volu (volumizing) Spray. Mist the root to give volume, then, with a large curling iron, alternate the direction of the curl to give it a less structured, more tousled look. You can also curl sections with a flat iron, keeping the roots sleek. If you want no heat waves, you can apply Davines' Invisible Serum to damp hair and braid. Wait for it to dry and simply run your fingers through to break up the waves. You can also apply Oi Oil to dry hair to control frizz and keep humidity at bay.

To bring your beach hair back to life after a long day, just spray some Hair Refresher at the root. Turn your head upside down, spritz roots and work it into the scalp with your fingertips. Flip, then lightly scrunch through the ends. It’s a dry shampoo that brings back the volume and gives your hair a “do over.”

welcome to the nest: hairstylist jenni snyder renshaw

We are thrilled to announce that some incredible new talent has landed at the Aviary! Hairstylist Jenni Snyder Renshaw will begin creating her hair cut and color magic within our space, beginning immediately. Jenni is a Detroit native who spent her most recent years as the owner/operator of an award-winning, 5-star salon in Durham, North Carolina. She is Toni & Guy trained and a certified Davines colorist who also has experience working in film. Just this past week, Jenni had the opportunity to give a complete haircut overhaul to Atlanta PR and marketing expert Tucker Berta Sarkisian. Recently married, Tucker was looking for a new look post-wedding and opted for the Red Carpet-hot “wob” or “wavy bob.” Tucker says, “After wearing my long hair in a top knot for 363 of the last 365 days, it was time for a change.  I took Jenni a pic of Sienna Miller at the Golden Globes -- she took that, adapted it for my hair type and face shape, and it's perfect.  And - shockingly - it's as easy to do as the top knot."

Since she is new to town, Jenni is building her clientele, giving Atlantans a wonderful opportunity to have this in-demand talent transform their hair and keep their style at the forefront of current trends.

We are so glad to welcome Jenni and her skills into The Aviary family and to see what she creates with you!
