A pioneer in Atlanta’s beauty and wellness scene, Aviary Beauty + Wellness in historic Old Fourth Ward opened its doors in 2009. Tucked away in Studioplex Lofts, a 1906-built cotton warehouse, with zero foot traffic from the then burgeoning and now bustling neighborhood surrounding it, the boutique, rustic-modern studio has always thrived on word of mouth for its solid reputation. A peaceful, desirable environment for top talent to work, Aviary attracts the finest estheticians and best stylists in Atlanta to its inviting space housing two soothing treatment rooms and three salon chairs. Designed by design duo Alyssa Cassatto and Gavin Bernard for Grafite Ink, the studio upholds owner Amy Leavell Bransford’s sustainable practices including wood details harvested from her parents’ sustainable tree farm. Custom metal and millwork designed by local craftsmen from B10 Union enhances the attractive and welcoming beauty sanctuary for all.

Just like its Old Fourth Ward sister, which is situated down the block from Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birth home, Aviary’s second location opened in one of Atlanta’s historic neighborhoods. In the 1860s, Summerhill’s early inhabitants were emancipated slaves and Jewish immigrants and later, was home to several of Atlanta’s influential civic and business leaders. Today, Summerhill is getting its second wind, and the growing team at Aviary Beauty + Wellness is excited to be in the heart of it. With design team extraordinaire Sacred Space Studio and Amanda Dashwood Interiors, architect Leanne Epstein, custom mural and wallcoverings created with Amy Parry Projects and custom millwork by B10 Union, the bohemian and Art Nouveau-styled beauty and wellness studio was born in Summer 2021. With two luxurious treatment rooms and four salon chairs, Aviary Beauty + Wellness Summerhill upholds our boutique philosophy that more isn’t always more. The inviting, lofty space embraces customers seeking an everyday escape with its spa-like vibes and highly personalized beauty services.
Old Fourth Ward Parking and Directions
We have plenty of parking via a paid parking lot/ deck and free parking on the street along the perimeter of Studioplex Lofts.Enter the main gate of Studioplex. After taking a ticket from the machine, follow the blue P parking signs. Unreserved spaces are in the surface lot, on the ground floor (G) of the parking deck, and at level three and above. Aviary is located in the central outdoor courtyard of the two buildings. From the deck, we are just on the other side of the wall closest to the building. Through a double set of glass doors, we are inside on the right. If coming from the front of the building, walk to the end of the courtyard. Aviary is located at the end, last unit on the left, Studio 125.
Summerhill Parking and Directions
There is plenty of free, on-street parking in front of and on the streets surrounding Aviary’s Summerhill location. We have a 20 space parking lot right behind us (entrance beside Maepole.) If these options are full, there is an enormous parking lot (Parking Lot A) located two blocks down at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Fraser.
